Employment barometer in 2nd quarter 2014 – Slowed increase in tertiary sector jobs

Neuchâtel, 28.08.2014 - (FSO) - According to the Federal Statistical Office (FSO), the quarterly indicators of the employment barometer show employment growth of 0.7% in the 2nd quarter 2014 compared with the same quarter a year earlier. While the job increase in the secondary sector (+0.7%) was slightly reinforced, in the tertiary sector (also +0.7%) it slowed down somewhat. The number of vacancies (+3.3%), the employment outlook indicator (+0.8%) and difficulty in recruiting personnel (+1.9%) increased compared with the same quarter of the previous year.
