Producer and Import Price Index in August 2014 – Index shows slight decline compared with previous month; year-on-year inflation -1.2%
Neuchâtel, 15.09.2014 - (FSO) - The Producer and Import Price Index calculated by the Federal Statistical Office (FSO) fell by 0.2% in August 2014 compared with the previous month, reaching 97.3 points (base December 2010 = 100). Prices were lower in particular for petrol and petroleum products as well as for pharmaceutical products which are surveyed on a quarterly basis. Both the producer price index for domestically produced goods and import prices showed a decline of 0.2%. The price level of the whole range of domestic and imported products dropped by 1.2% year-on-year.
