Hospital Statistics 2013: provisional figures – For the first time Swiss hospitals treated more than a million patients in 2013
Neuchâtel, 20.11.2014 - (FSO) - A record number of patients - 1,014,077 - were treated in Swiss hospitals in 2013. This is equal to almost 12% of the population and roughly 12.6 million care days, 100,000 more than in the previous year. The greatest share was recorded by hospital departments of surgery and internal medicine, followed by the treatment of psychiatric cases. These are the results of the inpatient health care statistics from the Federal Statistical Office (FSO).
