Swiss construction output price index in October 2014 – Prices remain almost unchanged in construction

Neuchâtel, 18.12.2014 - (FSO) - According to the construction price index compiled by the Federal Statistical Office (FSO), construction prices remained practically unchanged between April and October 2014 (-0.1%). This stability is the result of two opposing trends: a slight decline in building prices (-0.3%) and a marginal increase in civil engineering prices (+0.6%). The outlook for 2015 of a lower work volume mainly in the construction of dwellings incites enterprises not to change their prices in order to secure contracts. In year-on-year comparison, construction registered a price decrease of -0.3% (-0.3% in building and -0.3% in civil engineering).
