Debt collection and bankruptcy statistics 2014 – Reduction in the number of bankruptcies

(Last modification 09.10.2015)

Neuchâtel, 26.03.2015 - (FSO) – The number of bankruptcy proceedings opened in 2014 declined by 5.1% compared with 2013, falling from 12,478 to 11,842. This decrease is above all due to the reduction in the number of bankruptcies of persons registered in the trade register (-12.3%). At the same time, financial losses resulting from bankruptcy settlements increased considerably (+33.3%), reaching CHF 2.5 billion. These are the latest findings of the Federal Statistical Office (FSO) on debt collection and bankruptcy.
