Confederation R&D expenditure and personnel in 2014 – Decline in Confederation research expenditure in 2014

Neuchâtel, 23.07.2015 - Neuchâtel, 23.07.2015 (FSO) – Confederation R&D expenditure fell by 7% compared with the amount recorded in the 2012 survey according to the latest findings from the Federal Statistical Office (FSO). Expenditure fell below the CHF 2 billion mark crossed two years ago. The main reason for this decline is the putting on hold of collaboration in international research with the European Union, following Switzerland's acceptance of the popular initiative of 9 February 2014 against mass immigration.
