President Eveline Widmer-Schlumpf receives young Swiss living abroad

Bern, 03.08.2012 - Today in the Bernerhof, President Eveline Widmer-Schlumpf received approximately 50 Swiss children who live abroad. She thanked her young guests for their ties with Switzerland.

The event was organised by the Foundation for Young Swiss Abroad. The some 50 young people come from all over the world and are currently on a summer camp in Obersaxen in the Canton of Graubünden. President Eveline Widmer-Schlumpf thanked the young Swiss living abroad for the fact that each one of them is linked to Switzerland, and not just by their Swiss passport. Irrespective of their origins, their attendance at the camp in Obersaxen demonstrates that the young people are interested in their "second home". Finally, President Eveline Widmer-Schlumpf encouraged her guests to continue to be a part of what happens in Switzerland.

The young Swiss living abroad seized the opportunity to ask President Eveline Widmer-Schlumpf some questions that they had prepared together during the camp.
