Monica Mächler, Director of the Federal Office of Private Insurance (FOPI), was elected to the IAIS Executive Committee at the Annual Conference of the International Association of Insurance Supervisors (IAIS) in Budapest.

Established in 1994, the IAIS is an association of insurance regulators and supervisors from nearly 140 countries. In addition more than 120 observers from the insurance sector are involved in the work of the IAIS. The IAIS draws up core documents on principles for the insurance sector, standards and guidelines with a global impact and organises and provides support for seminars and training programmes on the topic of insurance supervision. Furthermore, the organisation works closely with other international institutions in the financial sector with the goal of promoting its stability.
