Investment in the construction sector in Switzerland in 2011: temporary data – Continued growth in construction investment

Neuchâtel, 16.07.2012 - (FSO) - According to provisional results from the construction statistics for the year 2011 compiled by the Federal Statistical Office (FSO), nominal construction expenditure rose by 4.7% year-on-year to CHF 59.5 billion. Allowing for a 2.2% inflation increase in the construction industry in 2011, real construction expenditure rose by 2.5%. Building projects announced for 2012 indicate a further increase in nominal construction expenditure.
