Confederation R&D expenditure and personnel in 2012 – Confederation research expenditure reached CHF 2.1 billion in 2012

Neuchâtel, 16.07.2013 - (FSO) - According to the latest results from the Federal Statistical Office (FSO), the Confederation's expenditure on research and development amounted to CHF 2.1 billion in 2012, i.e. an increase of 17% compared with the last data collected in 2010. This expenditure is mainly in the form of contributions towards research. The number of federal personnel taking part in research activities has grown by 5% and now stands at 1560.
