CTI Entrepreneurship: new regional providers for module 2

Berne, 16.09.2014 - The Commission for Technology and Innovation CTI has appointed the providers for the first two modules of the CTI Entrepreneurship start-up training programme. The courses of module 1 (Business Idea) will continue to be run by the IFJ Institut für Jungunternehmen, while three regional consortia will be responsible for module 2 (Business Concept). The call for bids was launched at the beginning of 2014 through a public offering.

Modules 1 and 2 of the CTI Entrepreneurship training programme include awareness-raising events and semester courses, which prepare young entrepreneurs for success in entrepreneurship. These courses are designed for students und (post-)graduate students interested in acquiring entrepreneurial independence.
The first module will include 24 forums at universities and eight forums at events organised by the Swiss National Science Foundation SNSF next year. Module 2 includes a total of 20 semester courses at universities in the three regions. Courses begin in the 2015 spring semester.

The IFJ Institut für Jungunternehmen will continue to run module 1 from 2015.

Module 2 will be run by three consortia:

Zurich / Eastern Switzerland region 
Headed by: Technopark Zurich/ZHAW. Members: ETHZ, University of Zurich,  Empa, University of St. Gallen, St. Gallen University of Applied Sciences (UAS), Startfeld, Chur UAS, University of Lichten-stein and other organisations.

Central region (including Ticino)
Headed by: University of Bern / University of Applied Sciences Northwestern Switzerland. Members: Bern University of Applied Sciences (UAS), Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts, Centro Promozione Startup, BaseCamp4HighTech, InnoBE and other organisations.

Western region (including Valais)
Headed by: EPFL Innovationspark. Members: EPFL, University of Lausanne, HES-SO, Ecole Hô-telière Lausanne, Genilem and other organisations.

The three regional consortia, now in a slightly different composition, have successfully organised the courses for modules 3 (Business Creation) and 4 (Business Development) of the CTI Entrepreneurship start-up training programme since the beginning of 2013. Course modules 3 and 4 were put out to tender and awarded in 2012.
