President Keller-Sutter to undertake official visit to Croatia

Bern, 11.09.2025 — On Tuesday 16 September, President Karin Keller-Sutter will pay an official visit to Croatia, where she will meet with President Zoran Milanović in Zagreb. She is also scheduled to hold discussions with Prime Minister Andrej Plenković, Finance Minister Marko Primorac, and Speaker of the Parliament Gordan Jandroković. The meetings will focus on strengthening bilateral relations between Switzerland and Croatia, while also addressing current international issues.

With regard to bilateral relations, discussions will particularly cover economic exchange and cooperation under the second Swiss contribution to selected EU member states. The international agenda includes the situation in the Western Balkans, Swiss–EU relations, the war in Ukraine, international trade policy, and Switzerland’s 2026 chairpersonship of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE).

Switzerland and Croatia maintain excellent relations in many areas. This is reflected notably in the presence of around 33,000 Croatian citizens and 80,000 dual citizens living in Switzerland, and 1,800 Swiss citizens residing in Croatia. Cooperation under the second Swiss contribution has further strengthened bilateral exchange in recent years.
