President Keller-Sutter to travel to Poland for talks with President Nawrocki and Prime Minister Tusk

Berna, 10.11.2025 — President Karin Keller-Sutter will travel to Warsaw on Thursday, 13 November, for talks with Polish President Karol Nawrocki and Prime Minister Donald Tusk. Discussions are expected to cover bilateral relations between Switzerland and Poland, European policy, global trade issues and European security in connection with Russia's war against Ukraine.

Poland is an important partner for Switzerland in many areas including politics, the economy and culture as well as in the fields of science and technical cooperation. Business and trade relations between the two countries are also developing dynamically. In 2024 the value of goods traded between the two countries amounted to over CHF 6 billion, marking a significant increase in the volume of bilateral trade in recent years.

Cooperation within the framework of the Swiss enlargement contribution (2007–2017) and the second Swiss contribution to selected EU member states (since 2019) has further intensified bilateral exchanges. The second Swiss contribution is being used to support one programme each in the areas of development of small and medium-sized towns and research and innovation. The programmes help to reduce social and economic inequalities and strengthen bilateral relations.

In addition, Switzerland and Poland signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in May to expand cooperation in the areas of education, research and innovation.
