Cinemas in Switzerland: another successful Swiss film in 2023
Neuchâtel, 11.3.2024 - The market share of Swiss films rose in 2023 compared with the previous year, accounting for 6.3%. In Italian-speaking Switzerland, it even exceeded the pre-pandemic level of 2019. In total, cinemas recorded 10.5 million admissions in 2023. This was 16% less than in 2019, but 21% more than in 2022. These figures come from the final results of the film and cinema statistics published by the Federal Statistical Office (FSO) for 2023.
