Easing the shortage of skilled labour through higher education for refugees
Bern-Wabern, 28.3.2025 - The State Secretariat for Migration (SEM) and swissuniversities, the Swiss Conference of Rectors of Higher Education Institutions, want to facilitate access to higher education in Switzerland for refugees with academic potential and thereby ease the shortage of skilled labour. The first phase of the pilot programme will focus on five projects from institutions including the Universities of Basel, Lausanne and Lucerne, the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland and the Lucerne University of Teacher Education.
