ComCom: involuntary no to an unbundling request, yes to changes in the decrees

Berne, 6.2.2002 - The Federal Communications Commission (ComCom) is continuing to energetically promote unbundling as a key step towards greater competition and towards strengthen-ing Switzerland's position as a business location. On the basis of the restraining judgement of the Federal Court on 3 October 2001 in the Commcare case, however, it has been compelled to reject the interconnection request from diAx (now TDC) for unbundling. For economic reasons ComCom is pushing for rapid implementation of unbundling via changes to decrees. Because of this decision by the Federal Court, there is also an urgent need for action on the high prices of leased lines.
