Switzerland is expecting over one million foreign guests during the UEFA EURO 2008. The first large fan groups will arrive today on Friday, particularly from Portugal, Turkey and Holland. A total of over 1000 fan buses are anticipated the host cities. There are sufficient numbers of bus parking spaces, even if additional buses arrive on short notice.

Media centers
A total of seven media centers have been set up in Switzerland to accommodate journalists who are not accredited for the stadiums. These are located in the host cities of Basle, Berne, Geneva and Zurich, as well as in Tenero, Lugano and Châtel-St-Denis. There are work stations and plenty of information about Switzerland and the host cities available in each of the media centers. Regular media conferences and briefings will also be held.

Public viewings
The EURO 2008 shall be a festival for everyone. While the stadium seating is limited, fans can nevertheless celebrate goals outside them. In addition to the 16 UBS Arenas, there are over 150 public viewings available throughout Switzerland.

Accommodations
Hotel beds are not yet fully booked in Switzerland during the EURO 2008. Critical is the situation in the host cities, where nearly every available bed has been booked. However, alternatives to hotel beds are offered by the fan camps (e.g. in Dieterswil with 5,000 spaces per night or in Flamatt/Neuenegg with 3,500 spaces per night) as well as private offerings.
