The Federal Council concludes a tax agreement with ISO

Berne, 29.6.2006 - Ambassador Paul Seger, director of the Directorate of International Law of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), has today signed on behalf of the Federal Council a fiscal agreement with ISO (International Organization for Standardization). The ISO Secretary-General, Mr Alan Bryden, signed the agreement for ISO. The agreement gives ISO exemption from indirect taxation, i.e. value-added tax (VAT). ISO has already been exempted direct taxation in its capacity as a Swiss association pursuing an objective of public utility. In addition, ISO employees of foreign nationality will also be exempted taxation on salaries paid by ISO.
