Under the leadership of CEO André Kudelski, the Board appointed 20 experts with a track record in innovation to the Innovation Council. According to Board CEO Kudelski: “The members’ profile and experience give them an edge in responding to challenges in innovation, such as digitalisation, the protection of intellectual property or innovative business model approaches.“

The Board relies on people who are professionally active and can use their experience in their work at Innosuisse. In addition to the desired modernisation resulting from the conversion of the CTI to Innosuisse, the Board also intends to maintain a certain continuity with the previous promotion activities. For this reason, the Board has appointed five members of the CTI to the Innovation Council.

The board attaches particular importance to quality and diversity. The new members bring diversity to the Innovation Council both with their professional experience (in business, universities of applied sciences, universities, ETHs) and their cultural background: ten members are based in German-speaking Switzerland, seven in French-speaking Switzerland, two in Ticino, and one member works abroad.

The Innovation Council is the specialist body of the future Innosuisse. It decides on funding applications and provides scientific and innovation-related support to the funded projects. The Innovation Council develops proposals for funding strategies and instruments, and determines the related implementing provisions. Its tasks also include preparing the multi-annual programme for the Board. The Innovation Council may also call on experts for support, who are appointed by the Board on its proposal.
