Appointments

Rolf Stalder, currently head of the Swiss mission to the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) in Paris, has been appointed ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary to the Republic of Madagascar, the Union of the Comoros and the Republic of the Seychelles, with residence in Antananarivo.

Pedro Zwahlen, until recently head of mission in Canberra, has been appointed ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary to the Kingdom of Thailand, the Kingdom of Cambodia and the Lao People's Democratic Republic, with residence in Bangkok.

Markus Reubi, currently deputy head of mission (with ministerial rank) in Tokyo, has been appointed as Delegate of the Federal Council for the 2030 Agenda in Bern.

Conferment of ambassadorial titles

Sylvain Astier, currently migration delegate for North Africa in Tunis, has been conferred the title of ambassador for his new function as ambassador-at-large for the Horn of Africa, with residence in Nairobi.

Cédrine Beney, currently programme officer in the Multilateral Affairs Division of the SDC's Humanitarian Aid Department and the Swiss Humanitarian Aid Unit in Bern, has been awarded the title of ambassador for her new function as ambassador-at-large for the Sahel region, with residence in Dakar.

Thomas Gürber, currently director (with ambassadorial title) of the Geneva Centre for Security Sector Governance (DCAF) in Geneva, has been awarded the title of ambassador for his new function as head of the UN Division at the FDFA State Secretariat in Bern.

Adrian Dominik Hauri, currently deputy head of Switzerland's Permanent Mission to the United Nations in New York, has been awarded the title of ambassador for the exercise of his function during Switzerland's term on the UN Security Council for the period 2023–24.

Gabriel Lüchinger, currently a personal adviser as well as political and diplomatic adviser to Federal Councillor Guy Parmelin at the EAER in Bern, has been awarded the title of ambassador for his new function as head of the International Security Division at the FDFA State Secretariat in Bern.

Benjamin Rothen, currently head of the International and National Affairs Section of the Federal Statistical Office (FSO) in the FDHA in Bern, has been awarded the title of ambassador for the exercise of his function.
