Launch of the UN Year of Microcredit at the SWX
Bern, 18.11.2004 - The launch of the UN Year of Microcredit has been celebrated worldwide at different stock exchanges: The SWX Swiss Exchange presented the topic “Big Finance meets Microfinance” and hosted a special guest, a microentrepreneur and her loan advisor from Mozambique. Due to the very high rate of repayment, microfinance has become both an effective instrument for poverty reduction and an investment opportunity. This is what representatives of the federal government and of Swiss financial institutions emphasized at the event held at the Zurich Stock Exchange.
