Population size 2013: provisional figures – Switzerland's population increased by 1.2% in 2013

Neuchâtel, 24.04.2014 - (OFS) - At the end of 2013, Switzerland's permanent resident population was 8,136,700, i.e. an increase of 97,600 persons (+1.2%) compared with 2012. Currently in Switzerland, one in five women and one in six men are aged over 64. The number of those aged 100 or over has increased by 6.6% compared with 2012. These are the provisional findings of the population and households statistics (STATPOP) issued by the Federal Statistical Office (FSO).
